The 2022 World Cup will include 64 matches in total. The qualification process for the 2022 World Cup got underway with 211 teams in total. A total of 32 teams will advance from the qualifying rounds to the World Cup competition in 2022. Even more clubs will eventually get the chance to take part in soccer's premier competition. 48 teams have been confirmed to participate in the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
